Attempted break-in

2 weeks ago, someone tried to enter my house. It was during the day and suddenly I heard my back gate shaking. The dogs at the back house were also barking like mad. I was going to see what was going on from my kitchen but the noises stopped and i dismissed it as some cats. The next time i went to throw my rubbish out back, I noticed that the wooden door leading to the kitchen was tempered with. Someone had tried to hack at the door to pry the lock open. Luckily they were not able to get far.

I have never felt totally safe in this house although nothing has happened thus far to justify this. So when this happened, I couldn't even sleep peacefully for the first few nights. As I write this entry, we have some people working on the back door. My husband has got them to put metal bars on the wooden door so nobody can hack at it. We are also considering installing an alarm system.

The thing is, it's only my son and me at home most of the day throughout the week. We go out to do marketing and stuff during the week. I wouldn't want to come home and find somebody in my house. I would not be so worried if they came when I was not around but for someone to try it while I was home, that really shook me. My son's safety is the foremost thing on my mind. Nowadays, whenever I go out and come back, I take the lane behind my house just to check and see if someone has/is trying to enter the house. Then I drive up to the front and look around before finally opening my gate and coming in.

I can't wait for the day when my husband says we are moving to the central region. It may not solve all my problems but certainly having family close by will help alleviate most of it.

My baby is back

I drove down to Seremban on Tuesday morning. Mahadevan looked so different to me. He always looks different when I don't see him for a few days. I just couldn't stop holding him and hugging him. Luckily he didn't brush me off, as he sometimes does when I over do it.

I decided to leave on Wednesday afternoon as leaving its best to leave around his sleeping time so he'll sleep the whole journey. As my mom was putting him into the car seat, he started crying and said he didn't want to go back. Then he was begging my mom to come along. I decided to bribe him with some sweets (mentos, his favourite) and I thought I'll just drive around the neighbourhood so if he is still fussing its safe for me to pull over and attend to him.

His cries just got worse and by the time I reached the end of our road, he was trying to pull off his seat belt and screaming at the top of his lungs. I thought he might feel a bit better if i take the belt off so I undid it and he immediately reached for the door handle. He unlocked it and was attempting to pull it open. At that point I knew we were not going to go back then so I just drove home.

After he calmed down, we decided to try again but this time my mom sat in the car with us and we drove round round till he fell asleep. Once he was in deep sleep, I dropped my mom off and drove back, praying the whole time that he would not get up before I reach. Thank God, he only woke up when I reached my front gate. he immediately asked for his grandmother and started to cry but i managed to distract with some ultraman toys.

He is getting back to his old self but there are moments when he will suddenly ask for his ammama and start crying. Its a good thing that I will be going back again this Sunday but I'm rather worried about the following Sunday when we have to come back. Keeping my hopes up that all will go well.

Life is back to non-stop activities for me but I am not complaining....yet. It's soooo good to have him back.
